Association of Nigerian Authors

The Association of Nigerian Authors represents Nigerian creative writers at home and abroad. It was founded in 1981 with the novelist Chinua Achebe as President. The current President is Hon (Dr) Wale Okediran. The Association has branches in almost all the States in Nigeria.

Sheriff Olanrewaju is a major writer from Ilorin-South, Kwara State, Nigeria. An essayist, inspirational speaker, poet, and short story writer, Sheriff Olanrewaju was a former English language teacher at Al-Kawthar Model College, Ogun State, Nigeria. His contributions to poetry have been pivotal; his labour of love for literature has yielded fictional masterpieces such as the Incitements of Shaitan and The Gamut of Gospel Gimmicks. His academic acumen at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, earned him encomiums and accolades from comrades and contemporaries. He is the founder and coordinator of the annual Interscholastic Debate and Poetry Competition for secondary schools: An event that has recorded various successes since its inception four years ago.
